إِن مَا عَنْهُ عَنكُمْ ﴿٣١﴾

Translation

Saheeh International

If you avoid the major sins which you are forbidden, We will remove from you your lesser sins and admit you to a noble entrance [into Paradise].

گناهان کبیره و صغیره

از این آیه و آیات دیگر استفاده می‌شود که گناهان به دو دسته تقسیم می‌شوند: گناهان بزرگ (کبیره) و گناهان کوچک (صغیره). در این که ضابطه و میزان کوچک یا بزرگ بودن یک گناه چیست» گفته‌اند که گناه بزرگ» هر گناهی است که از نظر اسلام بزرگ و پر اهمیت است و نشانةٌ اهمیت آن این است که در قرآن تنها به نهی از آن قناعت نشده» بلکه به دنبال آن به عذاب دوزخ تهدید گردیده است؛ مانند: شرک» زناء رباخواری» خوردن مال یتیم و... از این رو در روایات اهل بیت(ع) می‌خوانیم: «گناهان بزرگ. گناهانی هستند که خداوند مجازات آتش برای آنها مقرر کرده است.» نظریةٌ دیگری» شدت نهی از یک گناه را معیار بزرگ یا کوچک بودن آن می‌داند؛ یعنی برای تشخیص بزرگ یا کوچک بودن یک گناه باید دید که قرآن و سنت از آن زیاد نمی کرده است یا کم. نکتةٌ مهمی که در اینجا باید بدان توجه داشتء این است که گناهان کوچک در صورتی کوچک هستند که تکرار نشوند و علاوه بر آنء از روی بی‌اعتنایی یا غرور و طغیان انجام نگیرند؛ چرا که گناهان صغیره در مواردی به کبیره تبدیل می‌شوند. از امام صادق(ع) نقل شده است: «هیچ گناه صغیره‌ای, با تکرار» صغیره نمی‌ماند.» از امام علی(ع) نیز روایت شده است: «بزرگ‌ترین گناهان, گناهی است که انجام‌دهنده‌اش آن را کوچک بشمارد.»
