سفرهای زمستانه و تابستانه

زمین شهر مکه» باغ و زراعتی نداشت و دامداری آن نیز محدود بود. بیشترین درآمد اهل مکه. از طریق کاروان‌های تجاری تأمین می‌شد. آنان در فصل تابستان به سوی شمال و سرزمین شام می‌رفتند که هوای ملایم و مطلوبی داشت و اتفاقاً هم سرزمین یمن و هم سرزمین شام از کانون‌های مهم تجارت در آن روز بودند و مکه و مدینه حلقةٌ اتصالی در میان آن دو محسوب می‌شد. البته قریش با کارهای خلافی که انجام می‌دادند» مستحق این همه لطف و محبت الهی نبودند؛ اما چون مقدر بود که از میان این قبیله و از آن سرزمین مقدس, اسلام و پیغمبر اکرم(ص) طلوع کندء خداوند این لطف را در حق آنها کرده بود.
