And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection].

قرآن حکیم (شرح آیات منتخب)

وجدان؛ دلیلی بر وجود معاد

حقیقت این است که یکی از دلایل وجود معادء وجود محکمةٌ وجدان در درون جان انسان است که به هنکام انجام کار نیک، روح آدمی را مملوّ از شادی و نشاط می کند واز این طریق به او پاداش می دهد و هنگام انجام کار زشت یا ارتکاب جنایتء روح او را سخت در فشار قرار می‌دهد و مجازات و شکنجه می‌کند؛ به حدی که گاه برای نجات از عذاب وجدان اقدام به خودکشی می‌کند. یعنی در واقع وجدان حکم اعدام او را صادر کرده» به دست خودش اجرا می‌کند. البته نفس لوّامه (وجدان ملامتگر) در بعضی از انسان‌ها بسیار قوی و نیرومند است و در بعضی بسیار ضعیف و ناتوان؛ ولی به هرحال در هر انسانی وجود دارد؛ مگر این که کسی با گناهان بسیار آن را به کلی از کار بیندازد. به این ترتیب وقتی عالم صغیر یعنی وجود انسان در دل خود محکمه و دادگاه کوچکی دار چگونه عالم کبیر یعنی جهان خلقت با تمام عظمتش محکمة عدل عظیمی نخواهد داشت؟ از اینجا است که ما از وجدان اخلاقی به رستاخیز و قیامت پی می‌بریم و نیز از همین جا رابطةٌ نیکوی دو سوگند ابتدای سوره روشن می‌شسود. به تعبیر دیگر, سوگند دوم دلیلی بر سوگند اول است.
