And when it is said to them, "Believe in what Allah has revealed," they say, "We believe [only] in what was revealed to us." And they disbelieve in what came after it, while it is the truth confirming that which is with them. Say, "Then why did you kill the prophets of Allah before, if you are [indeed] believers?"

And when they are told, ‘Believe in what Allah has sent down,’ they say, ‘We believe in what was sent down to us,’ and they disbelieve what is besides it, though it is the truth confirming what is with them. Say, ‘Then why would you kill the prophets of Allah formerly, should you be faithful?’

And when it is said unto them: Believe in that which Allah hath revealed, they say: We believe in that which was revealed unto us. And they disbelieve in that which cometh after it, though it is the truth confirming that which they possess. Say (unto them, O Muhammad): Why then slew ye the prophets of Allah aforetime, if ye are (indeed) believers?

When it is said to them, "Believe in what Allah Hath sent down, "they say, "We believe in what was sent down to us:" yet they reject all besides, even if it be Truth confirming what is with them. Say: "Why then have ye slain the prophets of Allah in times gone by, if ye did indeed believe?"

And when they were told, 'Believe in that God has sent down,' they said, 'We believe in what was sent down on us'; and they disbelieve in what is beyond that, yet it is the truth confirming what is with them. Say: 'Why then were you slaying the Prophets of God in former time, if you were believers?'

هنگامی که به آنان گویند: به آنچه که خدا [بر پیامبر اسلام] نازل کرده ایمان آورید، گویند: به توراتی که بر خود ما یهودیان نازل شده ایمان می آوریم و به غیر آن در حالی که حق است و تصدیق کننده توراتی است که با آنان است، کفر می ورزند. بگو: اگر شما [از روی درستی و راستی به تورات] مؤمن بودید، پس چرا پیش از این پیامبران خدا را می کشتید؟

و چون به آنان گفته شود: «به آنچه خدا نازل کرده ایمان آورید»، می‌گویند: «ما به آنچه بر [پیامبر] خودمان نازل شده ایمان می‌آوریم.» و غیر آن را -با آنکه [کاملا] حق و مؤید همان چیزی است که با آنان است- انکار می‌کنند. بگو: «اگر مؤمن بودید، پس چرا پیش از این، پیامبران خدا را می‌کشتید؟»

Onlara, "Allah'ın indirdiğine inanın" denildiğinde "Bize indirilene inanırız" deyip ondan sonra gelen Kuran'ı inkar ederler; halbuki o, ellerinde bulunan Tevrat'ı tasdik eden hak bir Kitap'dır. Onlara "Eğer inanıyor idiyseniz niçin daha önce Allah'ın peygamberlerini öldürüyordunuz?" diye sor.

Dan apabila dikatakan kepada mereka: "Berimanlah kepada Al Quran yang diturunkan Allah," mereka berkata: "Kami hanya beriman kepada apa yang diturunkan kepada kami". Dan mereka kafir kepada Al Quran yang diturunkan sesudahnya, sedang Al Quran itu adalah (Kitab) yang hak; yang membenarkan apa yang ada pada mereka. Katakanlah: "Mengapa kamu dahulu membunuh nabi-nabi Allah jika benar kamu orang-orang yang beriman?"

جب ان سے کہا جاتا ہے کہ خدا کے نازل کئے ہوئے پر ایمان لے آؤ تو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم صرف اس پر ایمان لے آئیں گے جو ہم پر نازل ہوا ہے اور اس کے علاوہ سب کا انکار کردیتے ہیں. اگرچہ وہ بھی حق ہے اور ان کے پاس جو کچھ ہے اس کی تصدیق کرنے والا بھی ہے. اب آپ ان سے کہئے کہ اگر تم مومن ہو تو اس سے پہلے انبیائ خدا کو قتل کیوں کرتے تھے

যখন তাদেরকে বলা হয়, আল্লাহ যা পাঠিয়েছেন তা মেনে নাও, তখন তারা বলে, আমরা মানি যা আমাদের প্রতি অবর্তীণ হয়েছে। সেটি ছাড়া সবগুলোকে তারা অস্বীকার করে। অথচ এ গ্রন্থটি সত্য এবং সত্যায়ন করে ঐ গ্রন্থের যা তাদের কাছে রয়েছে। বলে দিন, তবে তোমরা ইতিপূর্বে পয়গম্বরদের হত্যা করতে কেন যদি তোমরা বিশ্বাসী ছিলে?
