And already were messengers ridiculed before you, but those who mocked them were enveloped by what they used to ridicule.

Apostles were certainly derided before you; but those who ridiculed them were besieged by what they had been deriding.

Messengers before thee, indeed, were mocked, but that whereat they mocked surrounded those who scoffed at them.

Mocked were (many) messenger before thee; But their scoffers were hemmed in by the thing that they mocked.

و به راستی پیش از تو پیامبرانی مورد استهزا قرار گرفتند، پس عذابی را که همواره مسخره می کردند، استهزا کنندگان را فرا گرفت.

و مسلمّاً پیامبران پیش از تو [نیز] مورد ریشخند قرار گرفتند، پس کسانی که آنان را مسخره می‌کردند، [سزای‌] آنچه که آن را به ریشخند می‌گرفتند گریبانگیرشان شد.

And olsun ki, senden önce birçok peygamber alaya alınmıştı da, alaya alanları, eğlendikleri şey mahvetmişti.

Dan sungguh telah diperolok-olokkan beberapa orang rasul sebelum kamu maka turunlah kepada orang yang mencemoohkan rasul-rasul itu azab yang selalu mereka perolok-olokkan.

اور پیغمبر آپ سے پہلے بھی بہت سے رسولوں کا مذاق اڑایا گیا ہے جس کے بعد ان کفاّر کو اس عذاب نے گھیر لیا جس کا یہ مذاق اُڑارہے تھے

আপনার পূর্বেও অনেক রাসূলের সাথে ঠাট্টা-বিদ্রূপ করা হয়েছে। অতঃপর যে বিষয়ে তারা ঠাট্টা করত তা উল্টো ঠাট্টাকারীদের উপরই আপতিত হয়েছে।
