يَٰزَكَرِيَّآ إِنَّا لَمْ لَّهُۥ مِن ﴿٧﴾

Translation

Saheeh International

[He was told], "O Zechariah, indeed We give you good tidings of a boy whose name will be John. We have not assigned to any before [this] name."

یحیی بدون همنام

از این آیه استفاده می‌شود که خداوند متعال خود نام یحیی را بر او نهاده و پیش از یحیی کسی نام او را نداشته است. البته بعید نیست که منظور از نبودن همنام برای یحیی» نبودن همانندی برای او باشد. شاهد این ادعا این است که خداوند در قرآن صفاتی را برای یحبی ذکر می‌کند که برای هیچ یک از پیامبران پیش از او ذکر نکرده است؛ صفاتی مانند رسیدن به نبوت در کودکی» ترک ازدواج و مشمول درود ای شدن در هنگام تولد و مرگ و برانگیخته شدن. البته حضرت عیسی(ع) نیز در این صفات با او شریک بود؛ اما باید توجه کرد که ولادت مسیح» پس از ولادت یحبی بوده است. شایان تذکر است که ترک ازدواج از سوی آن پیامبر الهی» علت خاصی داشته و این صفت برای دیگر انسان‌ها کمال محسوب نمی‌شود (برای اطلاع بیشتر ر.ک. به: تفسیر نمونه ذیل این آیه و یه ۳۹ سورة آل عمران). ذکر این نکته نیز لازم است که بیان ویزگی خاصی برای یک پیامبرء دلیل برتری مقام او بر دیگر پیامبران نیست؛ بلکه تنها نشان‌دهندة امتیاز ویژةٌ اوست.
