As for 'Aad, they were arrogant upon the earth without right and said, "Who is greater than us in strength?" Did they not consider that Allah who created them was greater than them in strength? But they were rejecting Our signs.

As for [the people of] ‘Ad, they acted arrogantly in the earth unduly, and they said, ‘Who is more powerful than us?’ Did they not see that Allah, who created them, is more powerful than them? They used to impugn Our signs;

As for A'ad, they were arrogant in the land without right, and they said: Who is mightier than us in power? Could they not see that Allah Who created them, He was mightier than them in power? And they denied Our revelations.

Now the 'Ad behaved arrogantly through the land, against (all) truth and reason, and said: "Who is superior to us in strength?" What! did they not see that Allah, Who created them, was superior to them in strength? But they continued to reject Our Signs!

As for Ad, they waxed proud in the earth without right, and they said, 'Who is stronger than we in might?' What, did they not see that God, who created them, was stronger than they in might? And they denied Our signs.

اما قوم عاد به ناحق در زمین تکبّر کردند و گفتند: نیرومندتر از ما کیست؟ آیا ندانستند خدایی که آنان را آفرید از آنان نیرومندتر است؟ و [به گمان اینکه نیرومندتر از آنان وجود ندارد] همواره آیات ما را انکار می کردند.

و امّا عادیان، به ناحق، در زمین سر برافراشتند و گفتند: «از ما نیرومندتر کیست؟» آیا ندانسته‌اند که آن خدایی که خلقشان کرده خود از ایشان نیرومندتر است؟ و در نتیجه آیات ما را انکار می‌کردند.

Ad milleti, yeryüzünde haksız yere büyüklük taslamış, "Bizden daha kuvvetli kim vardır?" demişti. Onlar, kendilerini yaratan Allah'ın onlardan daha kuvvetli olduğunu görmüyorlardı değil mi? Ayetlerimizi bile bile inkar ediyorlardı.

Adapun kaum 'Aad maka mereka menyombongkan diri di muka bumi tanpa alasan yang benar dan berkata: "Siapakah yang lebih besar kekuatannya dari kami?" Dan apakah mereka itu tidak memperhatikan bahwa Allah Yang menciptakan mereka adalah lebih besar kekuatan-Nya daripada mereka? Dan adalah mereka mengingkari tanda-tanda (kekuatan) Kami.

پھر قوم عاد نے زمین میں ناحق بلندی اور برتری سے کام لیا اور یہ کہنا شروع کردیا کہ ہم سے زیادہ طاقت والا کون ہے .... تو کیا ان لوگوں نے یہ نہیں دیکھا کہ جس نے ان سب کو پیدا کیا ہے وہ بہرحال ان سے زیادہ طاقت رکھنے والا ہے لیکن یہ لوگ ہماری نشانیوں کا انکار کرنے والے تھے

যারা ছিল আদ, তারা পৃথিবীতে অযথা অহংকার করল এবং বলল, আমাদের অপেক্ষা অধিক শক্তিধর কে? তারা কি লক্ষ্য করেনি যে, যে আল্লাহ তাদেরকে সৃষ্টি করেছেন, তিনি তাদের অপেক্ষা অধিক শক্তিধর ? বস্তুতঃ তারা আমার নিদর্শনাবলী অস্বীকার করত।
