And similarly, We awakened them that they might question one another. Said a speaker from among them, "How long have you remained [here]?" They said, "We have remained a day or part of a day." They said, "Your Lord is most knowing of how long you remained. So send one of you with this silver coin of yours to the city and let him look to which is the best of food and bring you provision from it and let him be cautious. And let no one be aware of you.

So it was that We aroused them [from sleep] so that they might question one another. One of them said, ‘How long have you stayed [here]?’ They said, ‘We have stayed a day, or part of a day.’ They said, ‘Your Lord knows best how long you have stayed. Send one of you to the city with this money. Let him observe which of them has the purest food, and bring you provisions from there. Let him be attentive, and let him not make anyone aware of you.

And in like manner We awakened them that they might question one another. A speaker from among them said: How long have ye tarried? They said: We have tarried a day or some part of a day, (Others) said: Your Lord best knoweth what ye have tarried. Now send one of you with this your silver coin unto the city, and let him see what food is purest there and bring you a supply thereof. Let him be courteous and let no man know of you.

Such (being their state), we raised them up (from sleep), that they might question each other. Said one of them, "How long have ye stayed (here)?" They said, "We have stayed (perhaps) a day, or part of a day." (At length) they (all) said, "Allah (alone) knows best how long ye have stayed here.... Now send ye then one of you with this money of yours to the town: let him find out which is the best food (to be had) and bring some to you, that (ye may) satisfy your hunger therewith: And let him behave with care and courtesy, and let him not inform any one about you.

And even so We raised them up again that they might question one another. One of them said, 'How long have you tarried?' They said, 'We have tarried a day, or part of a day.' They said, 'Your Lord knows very well how long you have tarried. Now send one of you forth with this silver to the city, and let him look for which of them has purest food, and bring you provision thereof; let him be courteous, and apprise no man of you.

و همان گونه [که با قدرت خود خوابشان کردیم، از خواب] بیدارشان نمودیم تا میان خود از یکدیگر [از حادثه اتفاق افتاده] بپرسند. گوینده ای از آنان گفت: چه مقدار [در خواب] مانده اید؟ [برخی] گفتند: یک روز یا پاره ای از روز را [در خواب] مانده ایم. [و برخی دیگر] گفتند: پروردگارتان به مقداری که [در خواب] مانده اید، داناتر است، پس یکی از خودتان را با این پولتان به شهر روانه کنید و او باید با تأمل بنگرد کدام یک [از مغازه داران شهر] غذایش پاکیزه تر است؟ پس غذایی از آن برایتان بیاورد، و او باید [در رفت، برگشت و داد و ستد] دقت و نرمی و لطف نشان دهد و احدی را از حال شما آگاه نکند.

و این چنین بیدارشان کردیم، تا میان خود از یکدیگر پرسش کنند. گوینده‌ای از آنان گفت: «چقدر مانده‌اید؟» گفتند: «روزی یا پاره‌ای از روز را مانده‌ایم.» [سرانجام‌] گفتند: «پروردگارتان به آنچه مانده‌اید داناتر است، اینک یکی از خودتان را با این پول خود به شهر بفرستید، تا ببیند کدام یک از غذاهای آن پاکیزه‌تر است و از آن، غذایی برایتان بیاورد، و باید زیرکی به خرج دهد و هیچ کس را از [حال‌] شما آگاه نگرداند.

Birbirlerine sorsunlar diye onları uyandırdık. İçlerinden biri: "Ne kadar kaldınız?" dedi. "Bir gün veya daha az bir müddet kaldık" dediler. "Ne kadar kaldığınızı Rabbiniz daha iyi bilir. Paranızla birinizi şehre gönderin, sakın sizi kimseye duyurmasın" dediler.

Dan demikianlah Kami bangunkan mereka agar mereka saling bertanya di antara mereka sendiri. Berkatalah salah seorang di antara mereka: Sudah berapa lamakah kamu berada (disini?)". Mereka menjawab: "Kita berada (disini) sehari atau setengah hari". Berkata (yang lain lagi): "Tuhan kamu lebih mengetahui berapa lamanya kamu berada (di sini). Maka suruhlah salah seorang di antara kamu untuk pergi ke kota dengan membawa uang perakmu ini, dan hendaklah dia lihat manakah makanan yang lebih baik, maka hendaklah ia membawa makanan itu untukmu, dan hendaklah ia berlaku lemah-lembut dan janganlah sekali-kali menceritakan halmu kepada seorangpun.

اور اس طرح ہم نے انہیں دوبارہ زندہ کیا تاکہ آپس میں ایک دوسرے سے سوال کریں تو ایک نے کہا کہ تم نے کتنی مدت توقف کیا ہے تو سب نے کہا کہ ایک دن یا اس کا ایک حصہّ ان لوگوں نے کہا کہ تمہارا پروردگار اس مدّت سے بہتر باخبر ہے اب تم اپنے سکے دے کر کسی کو شہر کی طرف بھیجو وہ دیکھے کہ کون سا کھانا بہتر ہے اور پھر تمہارے لئے رزق کا سامان فراہم کرے اور وہ آہستہ جائے اورکسی کو تمہارے بارے میں خبر نہ ہونے پائے

আমি এমনি ভাবে তাদেরকে জাগ্রত করলাম, যাতে তারা পরস্পর জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ করে। তাদের একজন বললঃ তোমরা কতকাল অবস্থান করেছ? তাদের কেউ বললঃ একদিন অথবা একদিনের কিছু অংশ অবস্থান করছি। কেউ কেউ বললঃ তোমাদের পালনকর্তাই ভাল জানেন তোমরা কতকাল অবস্থান করেছ। এখন তোমাদের একজনকে তোমাদের এই মুদ্রাসহ শহরে প্রেরণ কর; সে যেন দেখে কোন খাদ্য পবিত্র। অতঃপর তা থেকে যেন কিছু খাদ্য নিয়ে আসে তোমাদের জন্য; সে যেন নম্রতা সহকারে যায় ও কিছুতেই যেন তোমাদের খবর কাউকে না জানায়।
