ٱلَّذِينَ عَلَيْكُمُ كَمَا عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن لَعَلَّكُمْ ﴿١٨٣﴾

Translation

Saheeh International

O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous -

روزه؛ موّثرترین راه برای رسیدن به کمال و معنویت

روزه» از بزرگ‌ترین عبادات اسلامی و به فرمودةٌ معصومین(ع)» یکی از پنج چیزی است که اسلام بر آن بنا شده است.! البته این عبادت مخصوص امّت اسلامی نیست و امت‌های پیش از اسلام نیز در روزهای معینی از سال به اشکال گوناگون روزه می‌گرفتند؛ مانند روزه از گوشتء روزه از شیر» روزه از خوردن و آشامیدن و...؛ چنان که قرآن در سورة مریم(س) به روزةٌ سکوت حضرت مریم(س) اشاره کرده است. در فضیلت روزه» روایات بسیاری وارد شده و خود این آیه دلیل روشنی بر فضیلت روزه است؛ زیرا در پایان آیه فایدة روزه «تقوی» ذکر شده است. این تقوی و پرهیزگاری» از راه روزه و خودداری از اشتهای خوردن و آشامیدن و شهوت جنسی به دست می‌آید. به عبارت دیگرء روزه نزدیک‌ترین و موّرترین راه برای رسیدن به کمال و معنویت است. در حدیثی قدسی چنین می‌خوانیم: «روزه برای من است و من خودم اجر آن را می‌دهم.» برخی از مفسران بزرگ در توضیح این حدیث گفته‌اند که روزه تنها عبادتی است که تا انسان آَن را اظهار نکنده بر دیگران پوشیده است؛ بر خلاف دیگر عبادات که دیگران آن را می‌بینند و این ممکن است موجب ریا در آن عبادت شود. به همین جهت خداوند فرموده روزه برای خود من است.
