And when he wanted to strike the one who was an enemy to both of them, he said, "O Moses, do you intend to kill me as you killed someone yesterday? You only want to be a tyrant in the land and do not want to be of the amenders."

But when he wanted to strike him who was an enemy of both of them, he said, ‘Moses, do you want to kill me, just like the one you killed yesterday? You only want to be a tyrant in the land, and you do not desire to be one who brings about reform.’

And when he would have fallen upon the man who was an enemy unto them both, he said: O Moses! Wouldst thou kill me as thou didst kill a person yesterday. Thou wouldst be nothing but a tyrant in the land, thou wouldst not be of the reformers.

Then, when he decided to lay hold of the man who was an enemy to both of them, that man said: "O Moses! Is it thy intention to slay me as thou slewest a man yesterday? Thy intention is none other than to become a powerful violent man in the land, and not to be one who sets things right!"

But when he would have assaulted the man who was an enemy to them both, the man said, 'Moses, dost thou' desire to slay me, even as thou slewest a living 'soul yesterday? Thou only desirest to be a tyrant in the land; thou desirest not to be of them that put things right.'

هنگامی که خواست با کسی که دشمن هر دوی آنان بود به سختی برخورد کند [و از آن بنی اسرائیلی مظلوم دفاع نماید، مرد ستمدیده با ارزیابی اشتباهش در حقّ موسی به تصور آنکه موسی قصد وی را دارد] گفت: ای موسی! آیا می خواهی مرا بکشی چنان که دیروز یک نفر را کشتی؟ تو می خواهی در این سرزمین فقط یاغی و سرکش باشی، ونمی خواهی از مصلحان به شمار آیی!

و چون خواست به سوی آنکه دشمن هر دوشان بود حمله آورد، گفت: «ای موسی، آیا می‌خواهی مرا بکشی چنانکه دیروز شخصی را کشتی؟ تو می‌خواهی در این سرزمین فقط زورگو باشی، و نمی‌خواهی از اصلاحگران باشی.»

Musa, ikisinin de düşmanı olan kimseyi yakalamak isteyince: "Ey Musa! Dün bir cana kıydığın gibi bana da mı kıymak istiyorsun? Sen ıslah edenlerden olmak değil, ancak yeryüzünde bir zorba olmak istiyorsun" dedi.

Maka tatkala Musa hendak memegang dengan keras orang yang menjadi musuh keduanya, musuhnya berkata: "Hai Musa, apakah kamu bermaksud hendak membunuhku, sebagaimana kamu kemarin telah membunuh seorang manusia? Kamu tidak bermaksud melainkan hendak menjadi orang yang berbuat sewenang-wenang di negeri (ini), dan tiadalah kamu hendak menjadi salah seorang dari orang-orang yang mengadakan perdamaian".

پھر جب موسٰی نے چاہا کہ اس پر حملہ آور ہوں جو دونوں کا دشمن ہے تو اس نے کہا کہ موسٰی تم اسی طرح مجھے قتل کرنا چاہتے ہو جس طرح تم نے کل ایک بے گناہ کو قتل کیا ہے تم صرف روئے زمین میں سرکش حاکم بن کر رہنا چاہتے ہو اور یہ نہیں چاہتے ہو کہ تمہارا شمار اصلاح کرنے والوں میں ہو

অতঃপর মূসা যখন উভয়ের শত্রুকে শায়েস্তা করতে চাইলেন, তখন সে বলল, গতকল্য তুমি যেমন এক ব্যক্তিকে হত্যা করেছিলে, সে রকম আমাকেও কি হত্যা করতে চাও? তুমি তো পৃথিবীতে স্বৈরাচারী হতে চাচ্ছ এবং সন্ধি স্থাপনকারী হতে চাও না।
