And when they commit an immorality, they say, "We found our fathers doing it, and Allah has ordered us to do it." Say, "Indeed, Allah does not order immorality. Do you say about Allah that which you do not know?"

When they commit an indecency, they say, ‘We found our fathers practising it, and Allah has enjoined it upon us.’ Say, ‘Indeed Allah does not enjoin indecencies. Do you attribute to Allah what you do not know?’

And when they do some lewdness they say: We found our fathers doing it and Allah hath enjoined it on us. Say: Allah, verily, enjoineth not lewdness. Tell ye concerning Allah that which ye know not?

When they do aught that is shameful, they say: "We found our fathers doing so"; and "Allah commanded us thus": Say: "Nay, Allah never commands what is shameful: do ye say of Allah what ye know not?"

And whenever they commit an indecency they say, 'We found our fathers practising it, and God has commanded us to do it.' Say: 'God does not command indecency; what, do you say concerning God such things as you know not?'

چون کار زشتی مرتکب می شوند، می گویند: پدرانمان را بر آن [کار] یافتیم و خدا ما را به آن فرمان داده. بگو: یقیناً خدا به کار زشت فرمان نمی دهد، آیا چیزی را که نمی دانید [از روی جهل و نادانی] به خدا نسبت می دهید؟!

و چون کار زشتی کنند، می‌گویند: «پدران خود را بر آن یافتیم و خدا ما را بدان فرمان داده است.» بگو: «قطعاً خدا به کار زشت فرمان نمی‌دهد، آیا چیزی را که نمی‌دانید به خدا نسبت می‌دهید؟»

Onlar bir fenalık yaptıkları zaman, "Babalarımızı bu yolda bulduk, Allah da bize bunu emretti" derler. De ki: "Allah fenalığı emretmez. Bilmediğiniz şeyi Allah'a karşı mı söylüyorsunuz?"

Dan apabila mereka melakukan perbuatan keji, mereka berkata: "Kami mendapati nenek moyang kami mengerjakan yang demikian itu, dan Allah menyuruh kami mengerjakannya". Katakanlah: "Sesungguhnya Allah tidak menyuruh (mengerjakan) perbuatan yang keji". Mengapa kamu mengada-adakan terhadap Allah apa yang tidak kamu ketahui?

اور یہ لوگ جب کوئی براکام کرتے ہیں تو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم نے آباؤ اجداد کو اسی طریقہ پر پایا ہے اور اللہ نے یہی حکم دیا ہے -آپ فرمادیجئے کہ خدا بری بات کا حکم دے ہی نہیں سکتا ہے کیا تم خدا کے خلاف وہ کہہ رہے ہو جو جانتے بھی نہیں ہو

তারা যখন কোন মন্দ কাজ করে, তখন বলে আমরা বাপ-দাদাকে এমনি করতে দেখেছি এবং আল্লাহও আমাদেরকে এ নির্দেশই দিয়েছেন। আল্লাহ মন্দকাজের আদেশ দেন না। এমন কথা আল্লাহর প্রতি কেন আরোপ কর, যা তোমরা জান না।
