And Moses chose from his people seventy men for Our appointment. And when the earthquake seized them, he said, "My Lord, if You had willed, You could have destroyed them before and me [as well]. Would You destroy us for what the foolish among us have done? This is not but Your trial by which You send astray whom You will and guide whom You will. You are our Protector, so forgive us and have mercy upon us; and You are the best of forgivers.

And Moses chose of his people seventy men for Our appointed tryst and, when the trembling came on them, he said: My Lord! If Thou hadst willed Thou hadst destroyed them long before, and me with them. Wilt thou destroy us for that which the ignorant among us did? It is but Thy trial (of us). Thou sendest whom Thou wilt astray and guidest whom Thou wilt: Thou art our Protecting Friend, therefore forgive us and have mercy on us, Thou, the Best of all who show forgiveness.

And Moses chose seventy of his people for Our place of meeting: when they were seized with violent quaking, he prayed: "O my Lord! if it had been Thy will Thou couldst have destroyed, long before, both them and me: wouldst Thou destroy us for the deeds of the foolish ones among us? this is no more than Thy trial: by it Thou causest whom Thou wilt to stray, and Thou leadest whom Thou wilt into the right path. Thou art our Protector: so forgive us and give us Thy mercy; for Thou art the best of those who forgive.

موسی از میان قومش هفتاد مرد را برای میعادگاه ما بر گزید؛ پس هنگامی که [به سبب درخواست نابجایشان] آن زلزله شدید نابود کننده، آنان را فرا گرفت، گفت: پروردگارا! اگر می خواستی می توانستی همه آنان و مرا پیش از این هلاک کنی [ای کاش پیش از این هلاک می کردی تا بنی اسرائیل گمان نکنند که مرا در این حادثه توطئه و مکری بوده] آیا ما را به خاطر گناهی که سبک مغزانمان مرتکب شدند، هلاک می کنی؟ این [حادثه] چیزی جز آزمایش تو نیست، هر که را بخواهی [به آزمایشت] گمراه می کنی، و هر که را بخواهی هدایت می نمایی، تو سرپرست و یاور مایی، ما را بیامرز و به ما رحم کن که تو بهترین آمرزندگانی.

و موسی از میان قوم خود هفتاد مرد برای میعاد ما برگزید، و چون زلزله، آنان را فرو گرفت، گفت: «پروردگارا، اگر می‌خواستی، آنان را و مرا پیش از این هلاک می‌ساختی. آیا ما را به [سزای‌] آنچه کم‌خردان ما کرده‌اند هلاک می‌کنی؟ این جز آزمایش تو نیست؛ هر که را بخواهی به وسیله آن گمراه و هر که را بخواهی هدایت می‌کنی؛ تو سرور مایی؛ پس ما را بیامرز و به ما رحم کن، و تو بهترین آمرزندگانی.»

Musa, tayin ettiğimiz müddette milletinden yetmiş kişi seçti; onları sarsıntı tutunca dedi ki: "Rabbim! Dileseydin daha önce beni ve onları yok ederdin, aramızdaki beyinsizlerin yaptıklarından ötürü bizi yok eder misin? Bu, Senin imtihanından başka birşey değildir, bununla dilediğini saptırır, dilediğini doğru yola iletirsin; bizim dostumuz Sensin; bizi bağışla, bize merhamet et. Sen bağışlayanların en iyisisin."

Dan Musa memilih tujuh puluh orang dari kaumnya untuk (memohonkan taubat kepada Kami) pada waktu yang telah Kami tentukan. Maka ketika mereka digoncang gempa bumi, Musa berkata: "Ya Tuhanku, kalau Engkau kehendaki, tentulah Engkau membinasakan mereka dan aku sebelum ini. Apakah Engkau membinasakan kami karena perbuatan orang-orang yang kurang akal di antara kami? Itu hanyalah cobaan dari Engkau, Engkau sesatkan dengan cobaan itu siapa yang Engkau kehendaki dan Engkau beri petunjuk kepada siapa yang Engkau kehendaki. Engkaulah Yang memimpin kami, maka ampunilah kami dan berilah kami rahmat dan Engkaulah Pemberi ampun yang sebaik-baiknya".

اور موسٰی علیھ السّلامنے ہمارے وعدہ کے لئے اپنی قوم کے ستر ّ افراد کا انتخاب کیا پھر اس کے بعد جب ایک جھٹکے نے انھیں اپنی لپیٹ میں لے لیا تو کہنے لگے کہ پرودگار اگر تو چاہتا تو انھیں پہلے ہی ہلاک کردیتا اور مجھے بھی -کیا اب احمقوں کی حرکت کی بناپرہمیں بھی ہلاک کردے گا یہ تو صرف تیرا امتحان ہے جس سے جس کو چاہتا ہے گمراہی میں چھوڑدیتا ہے اور جس کو چاہتا ہے ہدایت دے دیتا ہے تو ہمارا ولی ہے -ہمیں معاف کردے اورہم پر رحم فرما کہ تو بڑا بخشنے والا ہے

আর মূসা বেছে নিলেন নিজের সম্প্রদায় থেকে সত্তর জন লোক আমার প্রতিশ্রুত সময়ের জন্য। তারপর যখন তাদেরকে ভূমিকম্প পাকড়াও করল, তখন বললেন, হে আমার পরওয়ারদেগার, তুমি যদি ইচ্ছা করতে, তবে তাদেরকে আগেই ধ্বংস করে দিতে এবং আমাকেও। আমাদেরকে কি সে কর্মের কারণে ধ্বংস করছ, যা আমার সম্প্রদায়ের নির্বোধ লোকেরা করেছে? এসবই তোমার পরীক্ষা; তুমি যাকে ইচ্ছা এতে পথ ভ্রষ্ট করবে এবং যাকে ইচ্ছা সরলপথে রাখবে। তুমি যে আমাদের রক্ষক-সুতরাং আমাদেরকে ক্ষমা করে দাও এবং আমাদের উপর করুনা কর। তাছাড়া তুমিই তো সর্বাধিক ক্ষমাকারী।
