It may be that my Lord will give me [something] better than your garden and will send upon it a calamity from the sky, and it will become a smooth, dusty ground,

maybe my Lord will give me [something] better than your garden, and He will unleash upon it bolts from the sky, so that it becomes a bare plain.

Yet it may be that my Lord will give me better than thy garden, and will send on it a bolt from heaven, and some morning it will be a smooth hillside,

"It may be that my Lord will give me something better than thy garden, and that He will send on thy garden thunderbolts (by way of reckoning) from heaven, making it (but) slippery sand!-

yet it may be that my Lord will give me better than thy garden, and loose on it a thunderbolt out of heaven, so that in the morning it will be a slope of dust,

امید است پروردگارم بهتر از باغ تو را به من عطا کند و از آسمان آسیبی دقیق و حساب شده بر باغ تو فرستد تا به صورت زمینی صاف و بی گیاه و لغزنده شود؛

امید است که پروردگارم بهتر از باغ تو به من عطا فرماید، و بر آن [باغ تو] آفتی از آسمان بفرستد، تا به زمینی هموار و لغزنده تبدیل گردد؛

Kendisiyle konuştuğu arkadaşı ona: "Seni topraktan, sonra nutfeden yaratanı, sonunda de seni insan kılığına koyanı mı inkar ediyorsun? İşte O benim Rabbim olan Allah'tır. Rabbime kimseyi ortak koşmam. Bahçene girdiğin zaman, her ne kadar beni kendinden mal ve nüfus bakımından daha az buluyorsan da: "Maşallah! Kuvvet ancak Allah'a mahsustur!" demen gerekmez mi? Rabbim, senin bahçenden daha iyisini bana verebilir ve seninkinin üzerine gökten bir felaket gönderir de bahçen yerle bir olabilir. Yahut suyu çekilir bir daha da bulamazsın" dedi.

maka mudah-mudahan Tuhanku, akan memberi kepadaku (kebun) yang lebih baik dari pada kebunmu (ini); dan mudah-mudahan Dia mengirimkan ketentuan (petir) dari langit kepada kebunmu; hingga (kebun itu) menjadi tanah yang licin;

تو امیدوار ہوں کہ میرا پروردگار مجھے بھی تیرے باغات سے بہتر باغات عنایت کردے اور ان باغات پر آسمان سے ایسی آفت نازل کردے جو سب کو خاک کردے اور چٹیل میدان بنادے

আশাকরি আমার পালকর্তা আমাকে তোমার বাগান অপেক্ষা উৎকৃষ্টতর কিছু দেবেন এবং তার (তোমার বাগানের) উপর আসমান থেকে আগুন প্রেরণ করবেন। অতঃপর সকাল বেলায় তা পরিষ্কার ময়দান হয়ে যাবে।
