And when it was said, 'Indeed, the promise of Allah is truth and the Hour [is coming] - no doubt about it,' you said, 'We know not what is the Hour. We assume only assumption, and we are not convinced.' "

When it was said, ‘‘Allah’s promise is indeed true, and there is no doubt about the Hour,’’ you said, ‘‘We do not know what the Hour is. We know nothing beyond conjectures, and we do not possess any certainty.’’ ’

And when it was said: Lo! Allah's promise is the truth, and there is no doubt of the Hour's coming, ye said: We know not what the Hour is. We deem it naught but a conjecture, and we are by no means convinced.

"And when it was said that the promise of Allah was true, and that the Hour- there was no doubt about its (coming), ye used to say, 'We know not what is the hour: we only think it is an idea, and we have no firm assurance.'"

And when it was said, "God's promise is true, and the Hour, there is no doubt of it," you said; "We know not what the Hour may be; we have only a surmise, and are by no means certain."

وچون می گفتند: یقیناً وعده خدا حق است و در وقوع قیامت هیچ شکی نیست، می گفتید: ما نمی دانیم قیامت چیست [و برپا شدنش را گمان نمی بریم] مگر گمانی ضعیف و غیر قابل اعتماد، و نمی توانیم به آن یقین پیدا کنیم!

و چون گفته شد: «وعده خدا راست است و شکی در رستاخیز نیست»، گفتید: «ما نمی‌دانیم رستاخیز چیست. جز گمان نمی‌ورزیم و ما یقین نداریم.»

"Doğrusu Allah'ın verdiği söz gerçektir, kıyamet saati şüphe götürmez" dendiği zaman: "Kıyametin ne olduğunu bilmiyoruz, yalnız yoktur sanıyoruz, buna dair kesin bir bilgi elde etmiş değiliz" derdiniz.

Dan apabila dikatakan (kepadamu): "Sesungguhnya janji Allah itu adalah benar dan hari berbangkit itu tidak ada keraguan padanya", niscaya kamu menjawab: "Kami tidak tahu apakah hari kiamat itu, kami sekali-kali tidak lain hanyalah menduga-duga saja dan kami sekali-kali tidak meyakini(nya)".

اور جب یہ کہا گیا کہ اللہ کا وعدہ سچا ہے اور قیامت میں کوئی شک نہیں ہے تو تم نے کہہ دیا کہ ہم تو قیامت نہیں جانتے ہیں ہم اسے ایک خیالی بات سمجھتے ہیں اور ہم اس کا یقین کرنے والے نہیں ہیں

যখন বলা হত, আল্লাহর ওয়াদা সত্য এবং কেয়ামতে কোন সন্দেহ নেই, তখন তোমরা বলতে আমরা জানি না কেয়ামত কি ? আমরা কেবল ধারণাই করি এবং এ বিষয়ে আমরা নিশ্চিত নই।
