The people of Noah denied before them and the [disbelieving] factions after them, and every nation intended [a plot] for their messenger to seize him, and they disputed by [using] falsehood to [attempt to] invalidate thereby the truth. So I seized them, and how [terrible] was My penalty.

The people of Noah denied before them and the [heathen] factions [who came] after them. Every nation attempted to lay hands on their apostle, and disputed erroneously to refute the truth. Then I seized them; so how was My retribution?!

The folk of Noah and the factions after them denied (their messengers) before these, and every nation purposed to seize their messenger and argued falsely, (thinking) thereby to refute the Truth. Then I seized them, and how (awful) was My punishment.

But (there were people) before them, who denied (the Signs),- the People of Noah, and the Confederates (of Evil) after them; and every People plotted against their prophet, to seize him, and disputed by means of vanities, therewith to condemn the Truth; but it was I that seized them! and how (terrible) was My Requital!

The people of Noah before them also cried lies, and the parties after them; every nation purposed against their Messenger to seize him, and disputed with falsehood that they might rebut thereby the truth. Then I seized them; and how was My retribution!

پیش از آنان قوم نوح و اقوامی که بعد از آنان بودند [پیامبرانشان را] تکذیب کردند، و هر امتی آهنگ پیامبر خود کردند تا او را دستگیر کنند [و از ابلاغ دین بازش دارند، یا از وطن بیرونش نمایند، یا او را بکشند] و با توسل به باطل برای نابود کردن حق و از میان بردن آن مجادله و ستیزه کردند، پس من هم آنان را [به عذاب] گرفتم، پس [بنگر که] عذاب من چگونه بود.

پیش از اینان قوم نوح، و بعد از آنان دسته‌های مخالف [دیگر] به تکذیب پرداختند، و هر امّتی آهنگ فرستاده خود را کردند تا او را بگیرند، و به [وسیله‌] باطل جدال نمودند تا حقیقت را با آن پایمال کنند. پس آنان را فرو گرفتم؛ آیا چگونه بود کیفر من؟

Onlardan önce, Nuh milleti, ardından, peygamberlere karşı gelen topluluklar da peygamberlerini yalanlamış; her ümmet, peygamberini cezalandırmaya azmetmişti. Hakkı batılla gidermek için mücadele etmişlerdi. Bunun üzerine Ben onları yakaladım. Cezalandırmam nasılmış?

Sebelum mereka, kaum Nuh dan golongan-golongan yang bersekutu sesudah mereka telah mendustakan (rasul) dan tiap-tiap umat telah merencanakan makar terhadap rasul mereka untuk menawannya dan mereka membantah dengan (alasan) yang batil untuk melenyapkan kebenaran dengan yang batil itu; karena itu Aku azab mereka. Maka betapa (pedihnya) azab-Ku?

ان سے پہلے بھی نوح علیھ السّلام کی قوم اور اس کے بعد والے گروہوں نے رسولوں کی تکذیب کی ہے اور ہر امت نے اپنے رسول کے بارے میں یہ ارادہ کیا ہے کہ اسے گرفتار کرلیں اور باطل کا سہارا لے کر جھگڑا کیا ہے کہ حق کو اُ کھاڑ کر پھینک دیں تو ہم نے بھی انہیں اپنی گرفت میں لے لیا تو تم نے دیکھا کہ ہمارا عذاب کیسا تھا

তাদের পূর্বে নূহের সম্প্রদায় মিথ্যারোপ করেছিল, আর তাদের পরে অন্য অনেক দল ও প্রত্যেক সম্প্রদায় নিজ নিজ পয়গম্বরকে আক্রমণ করার ইচ্ছা করেছিল এবং তারা মিথ্যা বিতর্কে প্রবৃত্ত হয়েছিল, যেন সত্যধর্মকে ব্যর্থ করে দিতে পারে। অতঃপর আমি তাদেরকে পাকড়াও করলাম। কেমন ছিল আমার শাস্তি।
