Those who remained behind of the bedouins will say to you, "Our properties and our families occupied us, so ask forgiveness for us." They say with their tongues what is not within their hearts. Say, "Then who could prevent Allah at all if He intended for you harm or intended for you benefit? Rather, ever is Allah, with what you do, Acquainted.

The Bedouins who had stayed back [from joining the Prophet in his ‘umrah journey to Makkah] will tell you, ‘Our possessions and families kept us occupied. So plead [to Allah] for our forgiveness!’ They will say with their tongues what is not in their hearts. Say, ‘Whether He desires to cause you harm or desires to bring you benefit, who can be of any avail to you against Allah[’s will]? Indeed Allah is well aware of what you do.’

Those of the wandering Arabs who were left behind will tell thee: Our possessions and our households occupied us, so ask forgiveness for us! They speak with their tongues that which is not in their hearts. Say: Who can avail you aught against Allah, if He intend you hurt or intend you profit? Nay, but Allah is ever Aware of what ye do.

The desert Arabs who lagged behind will say to thee: "We were engaged in (looking after) our flocks and herds, and our families: do thou then ask forgiveness for us." They say with their tongues what is not in their hearts. Say: "Who then has any power at all (to intervene) on your behalf with Allah, if His Will is to give you some loss or to give you some profit? But Allah is well acquainted with all that ye do.

The Bedouins who were left behind will say to thee, 'We were occupied by our possessions and our families; so ask forgiveness for us!' They say with their tongues what is not in their hearts. Say: 'Who can avail you aught against God, if He desires hurt for you, or desires profit for you? Nay, but God is ever aware of the things you do.

کسانی از بادیه نشینان که از جنگ [با دشمن] تخلف کردند به زودی [از روی بهانه جویی] به تو می گویند: اموال و خانواده مان ما را به خود مشغول کردند [به این سبب نتوانستیم به جنگ آییم]؛ پس برای ما آمرزش بخواه. با زبان هایشان چیزی می گویند که در دل هایشان نیست. بگو: اگر خدا زیانی یا سودی را برای شما بخواهد چه کسی می تواند در برابر خدا از شما دفاع کند؟ بلکه خدا همواره به آنچه انجام می دهید، آگاه است.

برجای‌ماندگان بادیه‌نشین به زودی به تو خواهند گفت: «اموال ما و کسانمان ما را گرفتار کردند، برای ما آمرزش بخواه.» چیزی را که در دلهایشان نیست بر زبان خویش می‌رانند. بگو: «اگر خدا بخواهد به شما زیانی یا سودی برساند چه کسی در برابر او برای شما اختیار چیزی را دارد؟ بلکه [این‌] خداست که به آنچه می‌کنید همواره آگاه است.

Bedevilerin savaştan geri kalmış olanları, sana: "Bizi mallarımız ve ailelerimiz alıkoydu. Allah'tan bizim bağışlanmamızı dile" diyecekler. Dilleriyle, gönüllerinde bulunmayanı söylerler; de ki: "Allah size bir zarar gelmesini dilerse, yahut bir fayda elde etmenizi dilerse, O'na karşı kimin gücü bir şeye yeter? Kaldı ki, Allah yaptıklarınızdan haberdardır."

Orang-orang Badwi yang tertinggal (tidak turut ke Hudaibiyah) akan mengatakan: "Harta dan keluarga kami telah merintangi kami, maka mohonkanlah ampunan untuk kami"; mereka mengucapkan dengan lidahnya apa yang tidak ada dalam hatinya. Katakanlah: "Maka siapakah (gerangan) yang dapat menghalang-halangi kehendak Allah jika Dia menghendaki kemudharatan bagimu atau jika Dia menghendaki manfaat bagimu. Sebenarnya Allah Maha Mengetahui apa yang kamu kerjakan.

عنقریب یہ پیچھے رہ جانے والے گنوار آپ سے کہیں گے کہ ہمارے اموال اور اولاد نے مصروف کرلیا تھا لہٰذا آپ ہمارے حق میں استغفار کردیں. یہ اپنی زبان سے وہ کہہ رہے ہیں جو یقینا ان کے دل میں نہیں ہے تو آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ اگر خدا تمہیں نقصان پہنچانا چاہے یا فائدہ ہی پہنچانا چاہے تو کون ہے جو اس کے مقابلہ میں تمہارے امور کا اختیار رکھتا ہے .حقیقت یہ ہے کہ اللہ تمہارے اعمال سے خوب باخبر ہے

মরুবাসীদের মধ্যে যারা গৃহে বসে রয়েছে, তারা আপনাকে বলবেঃ আমরা আমাদের ধন-সম্পদ ও পরিবার-পরিজনের কাজে ব্যস্ত ছিলাম। অতএব, আমাদের পাপ মার্জনা করান। তারা মুখে এমন কথা বলবে, যা তাদের অন্তরে নেই। বলুনঃ আল্লাহ তোমাদের ক্ষতি অথবা উপকার সাধনের ইচ্ছা করলে কে তাকে বিরত রাখতে পারে? বরং তোমরা যা কর, আল্লাহ সে বিষয় পরিপূর্ণ জ্ঞাত।
