Indeed, Allah is not timid to present an example - that of a mosquito or what is smaller than it. And those who have believed know that it is the truth from their Lord. But as for those who disbelieve, they say, "What did Allah intend by this as an example?" He misleads many thereby and guides many thereby. And He misleads not except the defiantly disobedient,

Indeed Allah is not ashamed to draw a parable whether it is that of a gnat or something above it. As for those who have faith, they know it is the truth from their Lord; and as for the faithless, they say, ‘What did Allah mean by this parable?’ Thereby He leads many astray, and thereby He guides many; and He leads no one astray thereby except the transgressors

Lo! Allah disdaineth not to coin the similitude even of a gnat. Those who believe know that it is the truth from their Lord; but those who disbelieve say: What doth Allah wish (to teach) by such a similitude? He misleadeth many thereby, and He guideth many thereby; and He misleadeth thereby only miscreants;

Allah disdains not to use the similitude of things, lowest as well as highest. Those who believe know that it is truth from their Lord; but those who reject Faith say: "What means Allah by this similitude?" By it He causes many to stray, and many He leads into the right path; but He causes not to stray, except those who forsake (the path),-

God is not ashamed to strike a similitude even of a gnat, or aught above it. As for the believers, they know it is the truth from their Lord; but as for unbelievers, they say, 'What did God desire by this for a similitude?' Thereby He leads many astray, and thereby He guides many; and thereby He leads none astray save the ungodly

بی تردید خدا [برای فهماندن مطلبی به مردم] از اینکه به پشه و فراتر از آن [در کوچکی] مَثَل بزند، شرم نمی کند؛ اما اهل ایمان آگاهند که آن مثل از سوی پروردگارشان درست و حق است و اما کافران می گویند: خدا از این مثل چه اراده کرده است؟! خدا بسیاری را به آن مثل [به خاطر عدم دقت و مطالعه] گمراه می کند، و بسیاری را به آن مثل [به سبب درک صحیح] هدایت می نماید؛ و جز فاسقان را به آن گمراه نمی کند.

خدای را از اینکه به پشه‌ای -یا فروتر [یا فراتر] از آن- مَثَل زند، شرم نیاید. پس کسانی که ایمان آورده‌اند می‌دانند که آن [مَثَل‌] از جانب پروردگارشان بجاست؛ ولی کسانی که به کفر گراییده‌اند می‌گویند: «خدا از این مَثَل چه قصد داشته است؟» [خدا] بسیاری را با آن گمراه، و بسیاری را با آن راهنمایی می‌کند؛ و[لی‌] جز نافرمانان را با آن گمراه نمی‌کند.

Allah sivrisineği ve onun üstününü misal olarak vermekten çekinmez. İnananlar bunun Rablerinden bir gerçek olduğunu bilirler. İnkar edenler ise "Allah bu misalle neyi murad etti?" derler, O, bu misalle birçoğunu saptırır, birçoğunu da yola getirir. Onunla saptırdığı yalnız fasıklardır ki onlar Allah'la yapılan sözleşmeyi kabulden sonra bozarlar. Allah'ın birleştirilmesini buyurduğu şeyi ayırırlar ve yeryüzünde bozgunculuk yaparlar; zarara uğrayanlar işte onlardır.

Sesungguhnya Allah tiada segan membuat perumpamaan berupa nyamuk atau yang lebih rendah dari itu. Adapun orang-orang yang beriman, maka mereka yakin bahwa perumpamaan itu benar dari Tuhan mereka, tetapi mereka yang kafir mengatakan: "Apakah maksud Allah menjadikan ini untuk perumpamaan?". Dengan perumpamaan itu banyak orang yang disesatkan Allah, dan dengan perumpamaan itu (pula) banyak orang yang diberi-Nya petunjuk. Dan tidak ada yang disesatkan Allah kecuali orang-orang yang fasik,

اللہ اس بات میں کوئی شرم نہیں محسوس کرتا کہ وہ مچھر یا اس سے بھی کمتر کی مثال بیان کرے. اب جو صاحبانِ ایمان ہیں وہ جانتے ہیں کہ یہ سب پروردگار کی طرف سے بر حق ہے اور جنہوں نے کفر اختیار کیا ہے وہ یہی کہتے ہیں کہ آخر ان مثالوں سے خدا کا مقصد کیا ہے. خدا اسی طرح بہت سے لوگوں کو گمراہی میں چھوڑ دیتا ہے اور بہت سوں کو ہدایت دے دیتا ہے اور گمراہی صرف انہیں کا حصّہ ہے جو فاسق ہیں

আল্লাহ পাক নিঃসন্দেহে মশা বা তদুর্ধ্ব বস্তু দ্বারা উপমা পেশ করতে লজ্জাবোধ করেন না। বস্তুতঃ যারা মুমিন তারা নিশ্চিতভাবে বিশ্বাস করে যে, তাদের পালনকর্তা কর্তৃক উপস্থাপিত এ উপমা সম্পূর্ণ নির্ভূল ও সঠিক। আর যারা কাফের তারা বলে, এরূপ উপমা উপস্থাপনে আল্লাহর মতলবই বা কি ছিল। এ দ্বারা আল্লাহ তা’আলা অনেককে বিপথগামী করেন, আবার অনেককে সঠিক পথও প্রদর্শন করেন। তিনি অনুরূপ উপমা দ্বারা অসৎ ব্যক্তিবর্গ ভিন্ন কাকেও বিপথগামী করেন না।
