And Joseph had already come to you before with clear proofs, but you remained in doubt of that which he brought to you, until when he died, you said, 'Never will Allah send a messenger after him.' Thus does Allah leave astray he who is a transgressor and skeptic."

Certainly Joseph brought you manifest proofs earlier, but you continued to remain in doubt concerning what he had brought you. When he died, you said, ‘‘Allah will never send any apostle after him.’’ That is how Allah leads astray those who are unrestrained and skeptical.

And verily Joseph brought you of old clear proofs, yet ye ceased not to be in doubt concerning what he brought you till, when he died, ye said: Allah will not send any messenger after him. Thus Allah deceiveth him who is a prodigal, a doubter.

"And to you there came Joseph in times gone by, with Clear Signs, but ye ceased not to doubt of the (Mission) for which he had come: At length, when he died, ye said: 'No messenger will Allah send after him.' thus doth Allah leave to stray such as transgress and live in doubt,-

Joseph brought you the clear signs before, yet you continued in doubt concerning that he brought you until, when he perished, you said, "God will never send forth a Messenger after him." Even, so God leads astray the prodigal and the doubter.'

بی تردید یوسف پیش از این دلایل روشنی برای شما آورد، ولی شما همواره نسبت به آنچه که آورده بود در تردید بودید، تا زمانی که از دنیا رفت، [پس از مرگ او] گفتید: خدا هرگز بعد از او پیامبری مبعوث نخواهد کرد، این گونه خدا هر اسراف کار تردید کننده ای را گمراه می کند.

و به یقین، یوسف پیش از این، دلایل آشکار برای شما آورد، و از آنچه برای شما آورد همواره در تردید بودید تا وقتی که از دنیا رفت، گفتید: «خدا بعد از او هرگز فرستاده‌ای را برنخواهد انگیخت.» این گونه، خدا هر که را افراطگر شکّاک است، بی راه می‌گذارد.

"And olsun ki, Yusuf da, daha önce, size belgelerle gelmişti. Size getirdiği şeylerden şüphelenip durmuştunuz. Sonunda Yusuf ölünce, Allah onun ardından hiçbir peygamber göndermeyecek demiştiniz. Allah, aşırı şüpheciyi işte böylece saptırır."

Dan sesungguhnya telah datang Yusuf kepadamu dengan membawa keterangan-keterangan, tetapi kamu senantiasa dalam keraguan tentang apa yang dibawanya kepadamu, hingga ketika dia meninggal, kamu berkata: "Allah tidak akan mengirim seorang (rasulpun) sesudahnya. Demikianlah Allah menyesatkan orang-orang yang melampaui batas dan ragu-ragu.

اور اس سے پہلے یوسف علیھ السّلام بھی تمہارے پاس آئے تھے تو بھی تم ان کے پیغام کے بارے میں شک ہی میں مبتلا رہے یہاں تک کہ جب وہ دنیا سے چلے گئے تو تم نے یہ کہنا شروع کردیا کہ خدا اس کے بعد کوئی رسول نہیں بھیجے گا - اسی طرح خدا زیادتی کرنے والے اور شکی مزاج انسانوں کو ان کی گمراہی میں چھوڑ دیتا ہے

ইতিপূর্বে তোমাদের কাছে ইউসুফ সুস্পষ্ট প্রামাণাদিসহ আগমন করেছিল, অতঃপর তোমরা তার আনীত বিষয়ে সন্দেহই পোষণ করতে। অবশেষে যখন সে মারা গেল, তখন তোমরা বলতে শুরু করলে, আল্লাহ ইউসুফের পরে আর কাউকে রসূলরূপে পাঠাবেন না। এমনিভাবে আল্লাহ সীমালংঘনকারী, সংশয়ী ব্যক্তিকে পথভ্রষ্ট করেন।
