And of the people are some who say, "We believe in Allah," but when one [of them] is harmed for [the cause of] Allah, they consider the trial of the people as [if it were] the punishment of Allah. But if victory comes from your Lord, they say, "Indeed, We were with you." Is not Allah most knowing of what is within the breasts of all creatures?

Among the people there are those who say, ‘We have faith in Allah,’ but if such a one is tormented in Allah’s cause, he takes persecution by the people for Allah’s punishment. Yet if there comes any help from your Lord, they will say, ‘We were indeed with you.’ Does not Allah know best what is in the breasts of the creatures?

Of mankind is he who saith: We believe in Allah, but, if he be made to suffer for the sake of Allah, he mistaketh the persecution of mankind for Allah's punishment; and then, if victory cometh from thy Lord, will say: Lo! we were with you (all the while). Is not Allah Best Aware of what is in the bosoms of (His) creatures?

Then there are among men such as say, "We believe in Allah"; but when they suffer affliction in (the cause of) Allah, they treat men's oppression as if it were the Wrath of Allah! And if help comes (to thee) from thy Lord, they are sure to say, "We have (always) been with you!" Does not Allah know best all that is in the hearts of all creation?

Some men there are who say, 'We believe in God,' but when such a man is hurt in God's cause, he makes the persecution of men as it were God's chastisement; then if help comes from thy Lord, he will say 'We were with you.' What, does not God know very well what is in the breasts of all beings?

و از مردم کسانی هستند که می گویند: به خدا ایمان آوردیم. پس هنگامی که در راه خدا شکنجه و آزار شوند، شکنجه و آزار مردم را مانند عذاب خدا [غیر قابل تحمل] شمارند [و از بیم ادامه یافتنش از ایمان دست برمی دارند]، و اگر از سوی پروردگارت یاری و نصرتی [چون پیروزی و غنیمت] بیاید، [به مؤمنان] قاطعانه می گویند: ما هم با شما بودیم. آیا [حال آنان از دید خدا پنهان است] و خدا به آنچه در سینه های جهانیان است [از همه] آگاه تر نیست؟

و از میان مردم کسانی‌اند که می‌گویند: «به خدا ایمان آورده‌ایم» و چون در [راه‌] خدا آزار کشند، آزمایش مردم را مانند عذاب خدا قرار می‌دهند؛ و اگر از جانب پروردگارت پیروزی رسد حتماً خواهند گفت: «ما با شما بودیم.» آیا خدا به آنچه در دلهای جهانیان است داناتر نیست؟

İnsanlardan: "Allah'a inandık" diyenler vardır; ama Allah uğrunda bir ezaya uğratılınca, insanların ezasını Allah'ın azabı gibi tutarlar. Rabbinizden bir yardım gelecek olursa, and olsun ki, "Doğrusu biz sizinle beraberdik" derler. Allah, herkesin kalbinde olanları en iyi bilen değil midir?

Dan di antara manusia ada orang yang berkata: "Kami beriman kepada Allah", maka apabila ia disakiti (karena ia beriman) kepada Allah, ia menganggap fitnah manusia itu sebagai azab Allah. Dan sungguh jika datang pertolongan dari Tuhanmu, mereka pasti akan berkata: "Sesungguhnya kami adalah besertamu". Bukankah Allah lebih mengetahui apa yang ada dalam dada semua manusia?

اور بعض لوگ ایسے ہیں جو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم اللہ پر ایمان لے آئے اس کے بعد جب راسِ خدا میں کوئی تکلیف ہوئی تو لوگوں کے فتنہ کو عذابِ خدا جیسا قرار دے دیا حالانکہ آپ کے پروردگار کی طرف سے کوئی مدد آجاتی تو فورا کہہ دیتے کہ ہم تو آپ ہی کے ساتھ تھے تو کیا خدا ان باتوں سے باخبر نہیں ہے جو عالمین کے دلوں میں ہیں

কতক লোক বলে, আমরা আল্লাহর উপর বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করেছি; কিন্তু আল্লাহর পথে যখন তারা নির্যাতিত হয়, তখন তারা মানুষের নির্যাতনকে আল্লাহর আযাবের মত মনে করে। যখন আপনার পালনকর্তার কাছ থেকে কোন সাহায্য আসে তখন তারা বলতে থাকে, আমরা তো তোমাদের সাথেই ছিলাম। বিশ্ববাসীর অন্তরে যা আছে, আল্লাহ কি তা সম্যক অবগত নন?
