The idea

Some letters are always heavy — the mouth fills with sound (خ ص ض غ ط ق ظ). Most are light. A few change: rāʾ is heavy with fatḥa/ḍamma, light with kasra; the lām of the Name 'Allāh' is heavy except after a kasra. Feeling the difference is the first step to an Arabic — not Persian — mouth.
