  • أَنْ أَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ

    [Commanded to say], "Send with us the Children of Israel."'"

  • قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

    [Moses] said, "Your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers."

  • قَالَ إِن سَأَلْتُكَ عَن شَىْءٍۭ بَعْدَهَا فَلَا تُصَٰحِبْنِى قَدْ بَلَغْتَ مِن لَّدُنِّى عُذْرًا

    [Moses] said, "If I should ask you about anything after this, then do not keep me as a companion. You have obtained from me an excuse."

  • وَمَآ أَعْجَلَكَ عَن قَوْمِكَ يَٰمُوسَىٰ

    [Allah] said, "And what made you hasten from your people, O Moses?"

  • فَأَصْبَحَ فِى ٱلْمَدِينَةِ خَآئِفًا يَتَرَقَّبُ فَإِذَا ٱلَّذِى ٱسْتَنصَرَهُۥ بِٱلْأَمْسِ يَسْتَصْرِخُهُۥ قَالَ لَهُۥ مُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّكَ لَغَوِىٌّ مُّبِينٌ

    And he became inside the city fearful and anticipating [exposure], when suddenly the one who sought his help the previous day cried out to him [once again]. Moses said to him…
