And those before them denied, and the people of Makkah have not attained a tenth of what We had given them. But the former peoples denied My messengers, so how [terrible] was My reproach.

Those who were before them had also denied—and these have not attained one-tenth of what We had given them—they impugned My apostles, so how was My rebuttal!

Those before them denied, and these have not attained a tithe of that which We bestowed on them (of old); yet they denied My messengers. How intense then was My abhorrence (of them)!

And their predecessors rejected (the Truth); these have not received a tenth of what We had granted to those: yet when they rejected My messengers, how (terrible) was My rejection (of them)!

Those that were before them also cried lies, yet they reached not a tenth of what We gave them; they cried lies to My Messengers, and how was My horror!

و کسانی که پیش از اینان بودند [آیات ما و پیامبران را] تکذیب کردند، و اینان به یک دهم قدرت و ثروتی که به آنان داده بودیم، نرسیده اند، پس پیامبرانم را تکذیب کردند [در نتیجه هلاکشان کردیم]؛ پس [بنگر] عذاب من چگونه بود؟

و کسانی که پیش از اینان بودند، [نیز] تکذیب کردند، در حالی که اینان به ده‌یک آنچه بدیشان داده بودیم نرسیده‌اند. [آری،] فرستادگانِ مرا دروغ شمردند؛ پس چگونه بود کیفر من؟

Kendilerinden önce gelenleri de yalanlamışlardı; oysa bunlar, onlara verdiklerimizin onda birine bile erişememişlerdi. Böyleyken peygamberlerimizi yalanladılar; Beni inkar etmek nasıl olur?

Dan orang-orang yang sebelum mereka telah mendustakan sedang orang-orang kafir Mekah itu belum sampai menerima sepersepuluh dari apa yang telah Kami berikan kepada orang-orang dahulu itu lalu mereka mendustakan rasul-rasul-Ku. Maka alangkah hebatnya akibat kemurkaan-Ku.

اور ان کے پہلے والوں نے بھی انبیائ علیھ السّلامکی تکذیب کی ہے حالانکہ ان کے پاس اس کا دسواں حصّہ بھی نہیں ہے جتنا ہم نے ان لوگوں کو عطا کیا تھا مگر انہوں نے بھی رسولوں کی تکذیب کی تو تم نے دیکھا کہ ہمارا عذاب کتنا بھیانک تھا

তাদের পূর্ববর্তীরাও মিথ্যা আরোপ করেছে। আমি তাদেরকে যা দিয়েছিলাম, এরা তার এক দশমাংশও পায়নি। এরপরও তারা আমার রাসূলগনকে মিথ্যা বলেছে। অতএব কেমন হয়েছে আমার শাস্তি।
