[We said], "O David, indeed We have made you a successor upon the earth, so judge between the people in truth and do not follow [your own] desire, as it will lead you astray from the way of Allah." Indeed, those who go astray from the way of Allah will have a severe punishment for having forgotten the Day of Account.

‘O David! Indeed, We have made you a vicegerent on the earth. So judge between people with justice, and do not follow your desires, or they will lead you astray from the way of Allah. Indeed there is a severe punishment for those who stray from the way of Allah, because of their forgetting the Day of Reckoning.’

(And it was said unto him): O David! Lo! We have set thee as a viceroy in the earth; therefor judge aright between mankind, and follow not desire that it beguile thee from the way of Allah. Lo! those who wander from the way of Allah have an awful doom, forasmuch as they forgot the Day of Reckoning.

O David! We did indeed make thee a vicegerent on earth: so judge thou between men in truth (and justice): Nor follow thou the lusts (of thy heart), for they will mislead thee from the Path of Allah: for those who wander astray from the Path of Allah, is a Penalty Grievous, for that they forget the Day of Account.

'David, behold, We have appointed thee a viceroy in the earth; therefore judge between men justly, and follow not caprice, lest it lead thee astray from the way of God. Surely those who go astray from the way of God -- there awaits them a terrible chastisement, for that they have forgotten the Day of Reckoning.'

[و گفتیم:] ای داود! همانا تو را در زمین جانشین [و نماینده خود] قرار دادیم؛ پس میان مردم به حق داوری کن و از هوای نفس پیروی مکن که تو را از راه خدا منحرف می کند. بی تردید کسانی که از راه خدا منحرف می شوند، چون روز حساب را فراموش کرده اند، عذابی سخت دارند.

ای داوود، ما تو را در زمین خلیفه [و جانشین‌] گردانیدیم؛ پس میان مردم به حق داوری کن، و زنهار از هوس پیروی مکن که تو را از راه خدا به در کند. در حقیقت کسانی که از راه خدا به در می‌روند، به [سزای‌] آنکه روز حساب را فراموش کرده‌اند عذابی سخت خواهند داشت!

Ey Davud! Seni şüphesiz yeryüzünde hükümran kıldık, o halde insanlar arasında adaletle hükmet, hevese uyma yoksa seni Allah'ın yolundan saptırır. Doğrusu, Allah'ın yolundan sapanlara, onlara, hesap gününü unutmalarına karşılık çetin azap vardır.

Hai Daud, sesungguhnya Kami menjadikan kamu khalifah (penguasa) di muka bumi, maka berilah keputusan (perkara) di antara manusia dengan adil dan janganlah kamu mengikuti hawa nafsu, karena ia akan menyesatkan kamu dari jalan Allah. Sesungguhnya orang-orang yang sesat darin jalan Allah akan mendapat azab yang berat, karena mereka melupakan hari perhitungan.

اے داؤد علیھ السّلامہم نے تم کو زمین میں اپنا جانشین بنایا ہے لہٰذا تم لوگوں کے درمیان حق کے ساتھ فیصلہ کرو اور خواہشات کا اتباع نہ کرو کہ وہ راسِ خدا سے منحرف کردیں بیشک جو لوگ راہ هخدا سے بھٹک جاتے ہیں ان کے لئے شدید عذاب ہے کہ انہوں نے روزِ حساب کو یکسر نظرانداز کردیا ہے

হে দাউদ! আমি তোমাকে পৃথিবীতে প্রতিনিধি করেছি, অতএব, তুমি মানুষের মাঝে ন্যায়সঙ্গতভাবে রাজত্ব কর এবং খেয়াল-খুশীর অনুসরণ করো না। তা তোমাকে আল্লাহর পথ থেকে বিচ্যুত করে দেবে। নিশ্চয় যারা আল্লাহর পথ থেকে বিচ্যুত হয়, তাদের জন্যে রয়েছে কঠোর শাস্তি, এ কারণে যে, তারা হিসাবদিবসকে ভূলে যায়।
