إِنَّ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَلَمْ مِنَ ﴿١٢٠﴾

Translation

Saheeh International

Indeed, Abraham was a [comprehensive] leader, devoutly obedient to Allah, inclining toward truth, and he was not of those who associate others with Allah.

قرآن حکیم (شرح آیات منتخب)

ابراهیم(ع) امّتی بود

در این که چرا به حضرت ابراهیم «امّت» اطلاق شده» سخنان گوناگونی به میان آمده است؛ از جمله گفته‌اند: این کلمهء نشان‌دهندةٌ عظمت آن جناب است؛ چنان که می‌گویند: «فلانی خودش به تنهایی یک قبیله است.» نیز گفته‌اند امّت در اینجا به معنای پیشوا و امامی است که از او پیروی می‌شود. بعضی گفته‌اند که ابراهیم(ع) در آن زمان که هیچ خداپرستی در روی زمین نبود و همة انسان‌ها در منجلاب شرک و بت‌پرستی غوطه‌ور بودندء تنها موحد و یکتاپرست روی زمین بود. پس او به تنهایی امّی» و مشرکان» امّت دیگر بودند (نظر آخر» محتوای حدیثی از امام صادق(ع) است.).
