Then why did those they took besides Allah as deities by which to approach [Him] not aid them? But they had strayed from them. And that was their falsehood and what they were inventing.

So why did not those [fake deities] help them whom they had taken as gods besides Allah, as a means of nearness [to Him]? Indeed, they forsook them; that was their lie and what they used to fabricate.

Then why did those whom they had chosen for gods as a way of approach (unto Allah) not help them? Nay, but they did fail them utterly. And (all) that was their lie, and what they used to invent.

Why then was no help forthcoming to them from those whom they worshipped as gods, besides Allah, as a means of access (to Allah)? Nay, they left them in the lurch: but that was their falsehood and their invention.

Then why did those not help them that they had taken to themselves as mediators, gods apart from God? Not so; but they went astray from them, and that was their calumny, and what they had been forging.

پس چرا معبودانی که به جای خدا انتخاب کردند به گمان اینکه آنان را به خدا نزدیک کند، آنان را [هنگام نزول عذاب] یاری نکردند بلکه [گم شده] از دستشان رفتند، و این بود [سرانجام و نتیجه] دروغشان و آنچه را همواره افترا می زدند.

پس چرا آن کسانی را که غیر از خدا، به منزله معبودانی، برای تقرّب [به خدا] اختیار کرده بودند، آنان را یاری نکردند بلکه از دستشان دادند؟ و این بود دروغ آنان و آنچه برمی‌بافتند.

O zamanlar, Allah'ı bırakıp da O'na yakınlık peyda etmek için edindikleri tanrılar kendilerine yardım etmeli değil miydi? Ama tanrıları onlardan uzaklaştılar. Bu, onların yalanı ve uydurup durdukları şeydir.

Maka mengapa yang mereka sembah selain Allah sebagai Tuhan untuk mendekatkan diri (kepada Allah) tidak dapat menolong mereka. Bahkan tuhan-tuhan itu telah lenyap dari mereka? Itulah akibat kebohongan mereka dan apa yang dahulu mereka ada-adakan.

تو وہ لوگ ان کے کام کیوں نہیں آئے جن کو انہوں نے خدا کو چھوڑ کر وسیلہ تقرب کے طور پر خدا بنالیا تھا بلکہ وہ تو غائب ہی ہوگئے اور یہ ان لوگوں کا وہ جھوٹ اور افترا ہے جو وہ برابر تیار کیا کرتے تھے

অতঃপর আল্লাহর পরিবর্তে তারা যাদেরকে সান্নিধ্য লাভের জন্যে উপাস্যরূপে গ্রহণ করেছিল, তারা তাদেরকে সাহায্য করল না কেন? বরং তারা তাদের কাছ থেকে উধাও হয়ে গেল। এটা ছিল তাদের মিথ্যা ও মনগড়া বিষয়।
