And, [O Muhammad], warn the people of a Day when the punishment will come to them and those who did wrong will say, "Our Lord, delay us for a short term; we will answer Your call and follow the messengers." [But it will be said], "Had you not sworn, before, that for you there would be no cessation?

Warn the people of the day when the punishment will overtake them, whereat the wrongdoers will say, ‘Our Lord! Respite us for a short time so that we may respond to Your call and follow the apostles.’ [They will be told,] ‘Did you not use to swear earlier that there would be no reverse for you,

And warn mankind of a day when the doom will come upon them, and those who did wrong will say: Our Lord! Reprieve us for a little while. We will obey Thy call and will follow the messengers. (It will be answered): Did ye not swear before that there would be no end for you?

So warn mankind of the Day when the Wrath will reach them: then will the wrong-doers say: "Our Lord! respite us (if only) for a short term: we will answer Thy call, and follow the messengers!" "What! were ye not wont to swear aforetime that ye should suffer no decline?

And warn mankind of the day when the chastisement comes on them, And those who did evil shall say, 'Our Lord, defer us to a near term, and we will answer Thy call, and follow the Messengers.' 'Ah, but did you not swear aforetime there should be no removing for you?

و مردم را از روزی که عذاب به سویشان می آید، هشدار ده. پس کسانی که ستم ورزیده اند، می گویند: پروردگارا! ما را تا [سرآمدی نزدیک؟ و] مدتی کوتاه مهلت ده تا دعوتت را اجابت کنیم، و از پیامبرانت پیروی نماییم. [ولی به آنان گویند:] شما نبودید که پیش از این سوگند یاد می کردید که هرگز برای شما زوال و فنایی نیست؟!

و مردم را از روزی که عذاب بر آنان می‌آید بترسان. پس آنان که ستم کرده‌اند می‌گویند: «پروردگارا، ما را تا چندی مهلت بخش تا دعوت تو را پاسخ گوییم و از فرستادگان [تو] پیروی کنیم.» [به آنان گفته می‌شود:] «مگر شما پیش از این سوگند نمی‌خوردید که شما را فنایی نیست؟

İnsanları, kendilerine azabın geleceği gün ile uyar. Haksızlık edenler: "Rabbimiz! Bizi yakın bir süreye kadar ertele de çağrına gelelim, peygamberlere uyalım" derler. Siz daha önce, sonunuzun gelmeyeceğine yemin etmemiş miydiniz! Üstelik kendilerine yazık edenlerin yerlerinde oturdunuz. Onlara, yaptıklarımız da sizlere açıklanmıştı. Size misaller de vermiştik.

Dan berikanlah peringatan kepada manusia terhadap hari (yang pada waktu itu) datang azab kepada mereka, maka berkatalah orang-orang yang zalim: "Ya Tuhan kami, beri tangguhlah kami (kembalikanlah kami ke dunia) walaupun dalam waktu yang sedikit, niscaya kami akan mematuhi seruan Engkau dan akan mengikuti rasul-rasul". (Kepada mereka dikatakan): "Bukankah kamu telah bersumpah dahulu (di dunia) bahwa sekali-kali kamu tidak akan binasa?

اور آپ لوگوں کو اس دن سے ڈرائیں جس دن ان تک عذاب آجائے گا تو ظالمین کہیں گے کہ پروردگار ہمیں تھوڑی مدّت کے لئے پلٹا دے کہ ہم تیری دعوت کو قبول کرلیں اور تیرے رسولوں کا اتباع کرلیں تو جواب ملے گا کہ کیا تم نے اس سے پہلے قسم نہیں کھائی تھی کہ تمہیں کسی طرح کا زوال نہ ہوگا

মানুষকে ঐ দিনের ভয় প্রদর্শন করুন, যেদিন তাদের কাছে আযাব আসবে। তখন জালেমরা বলবেঃ হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা, আমাদেরকে সামান্য মেয়াদ পর্যন্ত সময় দিন, যাতে আমরা আপনার আহবানে সাড়া দিতে এবং পয়গম্বরগণের অনুসরণ করতে পারি। তোমরা কি ইতোপূর্বে কসম খেতে না যে, তোমাদেরকে দুনিয়া থেকে যেতে হবে না?
