إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِ ﴿٦٣﴾

Translation

Saheeh International

Then We inspired to Moses, "Strike with your staff the sea," and it parted, and each portion was like a great towering mountain.

رودی چون دریا

در قرآن مجید بارها این مطلب تکرار شده است که موسی بنی‌اسرائیل را به فرمان خدا از «بحر» (دریا) عبور داد (ر.ک. به: یونس - ۹۰ طه - ۰۷۷ شعراء - ۶۳ و دخان - ۲۴) و در چند مورد از «یم» (رودخانه) نام برده شده است (ر.ک. به: طه - ۷۸ قصص - ۴۰ و ذاریات - ۴۰). اکنون سخن این است که منظور از بحر و یم در اینجا چیست. آیا اشاره به رود پهناور و عظیم نیل است که تمام آبادی سرزمین مصر از آن سرچشمه می گرفته یا اشاره به دریای احمر (بحر قلزم) است؟ بعضی از مفسران» همان گونه که در تورات کنونی آمده» می‌گویند که اشاره به دریای احمر است؛ ولی قراینی در دست است که نشان می دهد منظور همان نهر عظیم نیل است؛ زیرا بحر در لغت به معنای آب فراوان و وسیع است و یم نیز همین معنی را می‌رساند و بنابر این» اطلاق این دو کلمه بر نیل هیچ مانعی ندارد.
