Have they not traveled through the land and observed how was the end of those before them? They were more numerous than themselves and greater in strength and in impression on the land, but they were not availed by what they used to earn.

Have they not travelled over the land so that they may observe how was the fate of those who were before them? They were more numerous than them and were greater [than them] in power and with respect to the effects [they left] in the land. But what they used to earn did not avail them.

Have they not travelled in the land to see the nature of the consequence for those before them? They were more numerous than these, and mightier in power and (in the) traces (which they left behind them) in the earth. But all that they used to earn availed them not.

Do they not travel through the earth and see what was the End of those before them? They were more numerous than these and superior in strength and in the traces (they have left) in the land: Yet all that they accomplished was of no profit to them.

What, have they not journeyed in the land and beheld how was the end of those before them? They were stronger than themselves in might and left firmer traces in the earth; yet that they earned did not avail them.

آیا در زمین گردش نکردند تا با تأمل بنگرند که سرانجام کسانی که پیش از آنان بودند [و سرکشی و تکبّر می کردند] چگونه بود؟ همانان که نفراتشان از اینان بیشتر و از ایشان نیرومندتر بودند، و در زمین آثاری پایدارتر [چون قلعه ها و خانه های استوار و کاخ های بسیار محکم] داشتند، ولی نفرات و قدرت و آثاری که همواره به دست می آوردند [چیزی از عذاب خدا را] از آنان دفع نکرد.

آیا در زمین نگشته‌اند تا ببینند فرجام کسانی که پیش از آنان بودند چگونه بوده است؟ [آنها به مراتب از حیث تعداد،] بیشتر از آنان، و [از حیث‌] نیرو و آثار در روی زمین، استوارتر بودند، و[لی‌] آنچه به دست می‌آوردند، به حالشان سودی نبخشید.

Yeryüzünde dolaşıp, kendilerinden daha çok, daha kuvvetli, yeryüzünde bıraktıkları eserler daha sağlam olan öncekilerin sonuçlarının nasıl olduğunu görmezler mi? Kazandıkları onlara bir fayda vermemiştir.

Maka apakah mereka tiada mengadakan perjalanan di muka bumi lalu memperhatikan betapa kesudahan orang-orang yang sebelum mereka. Adalah orang-orang yang sebelum mereka itu lebih hebat kekuatannya dan (lebih banyak) bekas-bekas mereka di muka bumi, maka apa yang mereka usahakan itu tidak dapat menolong mereka.

کیا ان لوگوں نے زمین میں سیر نہیں کی ہے کہ دیکھتے کہ ان سے پہلے والوں کا انجام کیا ہوا ہے جو ان کے مقابلہ میں اکثریت میں تھے اور زیادہ طاقتور بھی تھے اور زمین میں آثار کے مالک تھے لیکن جو کچھ بھی کمایا تھا کچھ کام نہ آیا اور مبتلائے عذاب ہوگئے

তারা কি পৃথিবীতে ভ্রমণ করেনি? করলে দেখত, তাদের পূর্ববর্তীদের কি পরিণাম হয়েছে। তারা তাদের চেয়ে সংখ্যায় বেশী এবং শক্তি ও কীর্তিতে অধিক প্রবল ছিল, অতঃপর তাদের কর্ম তাদেরকে কোন উপকার দেয়নি।
