Those who do not know say, "Why does Allah not speak to us or there come to us a sign?" Thus spoke those before them like their words. Their hearts resemble each other. We have shown clearly the signs to a people who are certain [in faith].

Those who have no knowledge say, ‘Why does not Allah speak to us, or come to us a sign?’ So said those who were before them, [words] similar to what they say. Alike are their hearts. We have certainly made the signs clear for a people who have certainty.

And those who have no knowledge say: Why doth not Allah speak unto us, or some sign come unto us? Even thus, as they now speak, spake those (who were) before them. Their hearts are all alike. We have made clear the revelations for people who are sure.

Say those without knowledge: "Why speaketh not Allah unto us? or why cometh not unto us a Sign?" So said the people before them words of similar import. Their hearts are alike. We have indeed made clear the Signs unto any people who hold firmly to Faith (in their hearts).

And they that know not say, 'Why does God not speak to us? Why does a sign not come to us?' So spoke those before them as these men say; their hearts are much alike. Yet We have made clear the signs unto a people who are sure

و کسانی که نادان و ناآگاهند، گفتند: چرا خدا با ما سخن نمی گوید یا نشانه و معجزه ای برای ما نمی آید؟ گذشتگان آنان نیز مانند گفته ایشان را گفتند؛ دل هایشان [در تعصّب، لجاجت، عناد و نادانی] شبیه هم است. تحقیقاً ما [به اندازه لازم] نشانه ها را برای اهل باور بیان کرده ایم.

افراد نادان گفتند: «چرا خدا با ما سخن نمی‌گوید؟ یا برای ما معجزه‌ای نمی‌آید؟» کسانی که پیش از اینان بودند [نیز] مثل همین گفته ایشان را می‌گفتند. دلها [و افکار]شان به هم می‌ماند. ما نشانه‌ها[ی خود] را برای گروهی که یقین دارند، نیک روشن گردانیده‌ایم.

Bilmeyenler: "Allah bizimle konuşmalı veya bize bir ayet gelmeli değil miydi?" dediler. Onlardan öncekiler de onların söylediklerinin tıpkısını söylemişlerdi. Kalbleri birbirine benzedi. Kesinlikle inanan kimseler için ayetleri açıklamışızdır.

Dan orang-orang yang tidak mengetahui berkata: "Mengapa Allah tidak (langsung) berbicara dengan kami atau datang tanda-tanda kekuasaan-Nya kepada kami?" Demikian pula orang-orang yang sebelum mereka telah mengatakan seperti ucapan mereka itu; hati mereka serupa. Sesungguhnya Kami telah menjelaskan tanda-tanda kekuasaan Kami kepada kaum yang yakin.

یہ جاہل مشرکین کہتے ہیں کہ خدا ہم سے کلام کیوں نہیں کرتا اور ہم پر آیت کیوں نازل نہیں کرتا. ان کے پہلے والے بھی ایسی ہی جہالت کی باتیں کرچکے ہیں. ان سب کے دل ملتے جلتے ہیں اور ہم نے تو اہلِ یقین کے لئے آیات کو واضح کردیا ہے

যারা কিছু জানে না, তারা বলে, আল্লাহ আমাদের সঙ্গে কেন কথা বলেন না? অথবা আমাদের কাছে কোন নিদর্শন কেন আসে না? এমনি ভাবে তাদের পূর্বে যারা ছিল তারাও তাদেরই অনুরূপ কথা বলেছে। তাদের অন্তর একই রকম। নিশ্চয় আমি উজ্জ্বল নিদর্শনসমূহ বর্ণনা করেছি তাদের জন্যে যারা প্রত্যয়শীল।
