ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ لَن إِلَّآ فِى مَّا ﴿٢٤﴾

Translation

Saheeh International

That is because they say, "Never will the Fire touch us except for [a few] numbered days," and [because] they were deluded in their religion by what they were inventing.

    If those who disbelieved but knew the time when they will not avert the Fire from their faces or from their backs and they will not be aided...

  • ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمْ لَصَالُوا۟ ٱلْجَحِيمِ

    Then indeed, they will [enter and] burn in Hellfire.

  • فَمِنْهُم مَّنْ ءَامَنَ بِهِۦ وَمِنْهُم مَّن صَدَّ عَنْهُ وَكَفَىٰ بِجَهَنَّمَ سَعِيرًا

    And some among them believed in it, and some among them were averse to it. And sufficient is Hell as a blaze.

  • وَقَالُوا۟ لَن تَمَسَّنَا ٱلنَّارُ إِلَّآ أَيَّامًا مَّعْدُودَةً قُلْ أَتَّخَذْتُمْ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ عَهْدًا فَلَن يُخْلِفَ ٱللَّهُ عَهْدَهُۥٓ أَمْ تَقُولُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ

    And they say, "Never will the Fire touch us, except for a few days." Say, "Have you taken a covenant with Allah? For Allah will never break His covenant. Or do you say about Allah…
