Memorize

Learn a few verses each day, and they return for review just before you would forget them. Each verse you hold becomes a lamp — the atlas below fills with light as you go.

Lighting the niche…

How memorizing works here

You learn a small number of new verses in a session, then meet them again on a schedule that stretches as they stick — a day later, then a few days, then a week, then longer. Verses you stumble on come back sooner; verses you hold come back later. Nothing is ever dropped entirely.

Each new verse is learned by listening and recalling rather than staring: you hear the recitation, try to produce it, then check yourself. Recall is what builds memory — rereading mostly builds familiarity, which feels like memory until you are tested.

Everything is stored on your own device. There is no account, no upload, and nothing to lose if this site disappears — but also nothing that follows you to a different browser.

Where people usually start

The short, frequently recited sūrahs — they are heard often, which means they are half-known before you begin.
