Saheeh International

And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy and say, "My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up [when I was] small."

احسان و نیکی به پدر و مادر

این آیات» پس از فرمان به یکتاپرستی» به نیکی با پدر و مادر دستور می‌دهد که این نشان‌دهندةٌ اهمیت فوق‌العادةٌ این مطلب است. نکتةٌ بسیار مهم این آیه» تأکید بر احسان به والدین در سخت‌ترین دوران زندگی ایشان یعنی دوران پیری است؛ دورانی که ممکن است پدر و مادر از بر آوردن ضروری‌ترین نیازهایشان - مانند خوردن» نظافت و... - ناتوان شوند و به شدت به فرزندانشان محتاج گردند. اگر چه نیکی به پدر و مادر در همه زمان‌ها واجب است» در سنین کهولت آنان لازم‌تر می‌شود و قران تأکید می‌فرماید که سختی‌های نگهداری از ایشان را به جان بخرید وکوچک‌ترین توهینی به آنان نکنید و به خاطر داشته باشید که آنها نیز سختی‌های نگهداری از شما را به جان خریدند و هرگز لب به شکایت نگشودند. در اهمیت احسان به والدین همین بس که مادام که جهاد - با همدٌ اهمیتش - جنبةٌ وجوب عینی پیدا نکند و داوطلب به قدر کافی باشدء بودن در خدمت پدر و مادرء از آن مهم‌تر است و اگر رفتن به جهاد موجب ناراحتی آنها شودء جایز نیست. در حدیثی از امام صادق(ع) می‌خوانیم که مردی نزد پیامبر(ص) آمد و عرض کرد: من جوان با نشاط و ورزیده‌ای هستم و جهاد را دوست دارم؛ ولی مادری دارم که از این موضوع ناراحت می‌شود. پیامبر فرمود: «برگرد و با مادر خویش باش. قسم به خدایی که مرا به حق برانگیخته است. یک شب که مادرت با تو مأنوس گردد؛ از یک سال جهاد در راه خدا بهتر است.» > **Cited sources** (grade before any load-bearing use): al-Kāfī.
