لِمَ فِىٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَمَآ ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةُ وَٱلْإِنجِيلُ إِلَّا مِنۢ أَفَلَا ﴿٦٥﴾

Translation

Saheeh International

O People of the Scripture, why do you argue about Abraham while the Torah and the Gospel were not revealed until after him? Then will you not reason?

قرآن حکیم (شرح آیات منتخب)

نه بهودی و نه مسیحی

در اخبار اسلامی آمده است که دانشمندان بهود و مسیحیان نجران نرزد پیامبر(ص) به گفت‌وگو و نزاع در بارةٌ حضرت ابراهیم(ع) برخاستند. یهودیان می‌گفتند: او پهودی بود. مسیحیان نیز می‌گفتند: او نصرانی بود. به این ترتیب» هر کدام مدّعی بودند که حضرت ابراهیم از آنهاست تا امتیاز بزرگی برای خود ثابت کنند؛ زیرا از پیامبر بزرگ خدا یعنی ابراهیم(ع) در میان تمام پیروان مذاهب به عظمت یاد می‌شد. این آیه نازل شد و ادعاهای بی‌اساس آنان را تکذیب کرد؛ زیرا او سال‌ها پیش از موسی(ع) و عیسی(ع) می زیسته و تورات و انجیل پس از او نازل شده است. اگر حضرت ابراهیم(ع) بهودی و نصرانی نبود» پس چگونه مسلمان بود؟!: پاسخ این است که مُسلم در اصطلاح قرآن» تنها به معنای پیروان پیامبر اسلام نیست؛ بلکه اسلام به معنای تسلیم مطلق بودن در برابر فرمان خدا و توحید کامل و خالص از هرگونه شرک و دوگانه‌پرستی است که ابراهیم پرچمدار آن بود.

  • وَمَن يَرْغَبُ عَن مِّلَّةِ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمَ إِلَّا مَن سَفِهَ نَفْسَهُۥ وَلَقَدِ ٱصْطَفَيْنَٰهُ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَإِنَّهُۥ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ لَمِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ

  • ثُمَّ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْكَ أَنِ ٱتَّبِعْ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ حَنِيفًا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ

    Then We revealed to you, [O Muhammad], to follow the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth; and he was not of those who associate with Allah.

  • أَمْ تَقُولُونَ إِنَّ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمَ وَإِسْمَٰعِيلَ وَإِسْحَٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَٱلْأَسْبَاطَ كَانُوا۟ هُودًا أَوْ نَصَٰرَىٰ قُلْ ءَأَنتُمْ أَعْلَمُ أَمِ ٱللَّهُ وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّن كَتَمَ شَهَٰدَةً عِندَهُۥ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ وَمَا ٱللَّهُ بِغَٰفِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ

    Or do you say that Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the Descendants were Jews or Christians? Say, "Are you more knowing or is Allah?" And who is more unjust than one…

  • وَتِلْكَ حُجَّتُنَآ ءَاتَيْنَٰهَآ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ عَلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ نَرْفَعُ دَرَجَٰتٍ مَّن نَّشَآءُ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ حَكِيمٌ عَلِيمٌ

    And that was Our [conclusive] argument which We gave Abraham against his people. We raise by degrees whom We will. Indeed, your Lord is Wise and Knowing.

  • قَالَ أَرَاغِبٌ أَنتَ عَنْ ءَالِهَتِى يَٰٓإِبْرَٰهِيمُ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ لَأَرْجُمَنَّكَ وَٱهْجُرْنِى مَلِيًّا

    [His father] said, "Have you no desire for my gods, O Abraham? If you do not desist, I will surely stone you, so avoid me a prolonged time."
